Death Wish 2

Väkivallan Vihollinen 2

directed by Michael Winner
released in 1982
duration 95 minutes

Just like the original Death Wish, this sequel is a winner too! Everything I said about the original movie pretty much applies to this one as well. On the one hand, the so-called serious film critics have called Death Wish 2 complete trash. They say they simply hate it. On the other hand, the huge crowds that actually love action movies have embraced the sequel with lots of affection. This is a violent, action-packed movie that does not disappoint.

Charles Bronson returns as Paul Kersey whose family is once again abused. It does not take a genius to anticipate that Kersey will not tolerate it. He takes the justice to his own hands again, with lethal consequences. Although Death Wish 2 does not contain many new ideas compared the original, it is a success. I just love this film.

Herbie Hancock's swinging score worked well in the original Death Wish, and for the sequel, the soundtrack was composed by no other than Led Zeppelin's guitarist Jimmy Page. It works well. This movie is a must-see for all action and vigilante movie fans. It is a classic. Highly recommended.
